Secondary syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by the spirochete Treponema pallidum. This may present with round, copper-colored, sometimes pink to red plaques with a collarette of scaling on the hands and feet.

The diagnosis is confirmed and monitored through serologic testing. At baseline, this patient's serologic titer is 1:32 but today 3 months after receiving a single dose of Benzathine Penicillin G the titers are now down to 1:2. The lesions cleared out 1 month post-treatment ♥️

STIs can be diagnosed and treated by board-certified dermatologists. Don't hesitate consult one. We'd love to help 💙
