PRE-VACCINATION CHECKLIST:
1. Based on new DOH guidelines, *you CAN get vaccinated immediately after recovery from COVID-19 or completion of treatment*. Applicable to both first and second dose, NO NEED TO WAIT 90 DAYS AND NO NEED TO RESTART WITH FIRST DOSE.
2. If your 2nd dose was deferred by physician on duty at the vax site, you CAN now immediately receive vaccine after indicated period of deferment.
3. For people with hypertension: *OTHER VACCINE RECIPIENTS WHO ARE NOT IN HYPERTENSIVE EMERGENCY WILL BE VACCINATED*. You will only be deferred if you have BP greater than 180/20 and have signs and symptoms of organ damage (hypertensive emergency). You will be referred to the doctor on duty at the vax site and brought to the emergency room immediately. Other hypertensive patients not satisfying this will be vaccinated.
4. You only need to secure medical clearance if you have an autoimmune disease (HIV, cancer/malignancy, transplant patients, undergoing steroid treatment, with poor prognosis/bedridden patients), otherwise NO NEED to secure medical clearance prior to vaccination.
5. Only cancer patients currently under chemo, radiotherapy, or immunotherapy need clearance and certification before vaccination. *If you are already recovered from cancer, NO NEED FOR MEDICAL CLEARANCE.*
6. If you have comorbidities but don’t know if you are included under vaccine priority A3, *visit DOH website or FB page to see examples of the comorbidities eligible under A3*
7. You still need to use face masks and face shields, keep at least 1m distance, wash hands, and follow quarantine and isolation protocols even after getting vaccinated.
THE VACCINE IS NOT A MAGIC PILL GIVING YOU SUPERPOWERS AGAINST COVID--BUT YOU CAN BE SURE THAT IF YOU GET COVID, IT WILL MOST LIKELY ONLY BE MILD AND WILL NOT NEED HOSPITALIZATION.
