WHO can benefit from light boxes:
Those who are visually responsive to light or glowing objects but do not attend to standard materials
Those who benefit from enhanced contrast or illumination for visual engagement
Those who are developing skills such as visual tracking, scanning, discrimination, eye-hand coordination, and visual memory
Guidelines for use:
1. Use in a dimly lit area, but turn room light on if there is light sensitivity.
2. Avid flickering for those with seizures.
3. Try using it in different angles and distances
4. Explore with different colored overlays and materials
5. Use descriptive words like “look,” “see,” “find,” and describe the object’s shape, size, position, and color to help build visual language.
