Our Story
Established in 2015, the UE Manila Red Cross Youth Council (UE Manila- RCYC) the largest and premiere humanitarian organization in the University of the East Manila Campus started with 9 Executive Officers , 10 Executive Committee and 120 dedicated and selfless volunteers all headed by Mr. Christian C. Baria as the Executive President for Academic Year 2015-2016. A university-wide organization in UE Manila that is impartial and neutral which believes in the core values, mission and vision of the Philippine Red Cross.
On itโs second year of operations, UE Manila- RCYC Emergency Response Team is introduced to the UE Manila community. This team is called before as the dream team and now made possible and created through the leadership and efforts of Mr. James Edward D. Caiรฑa, UE Manila- RCYC Executive President for Academic Year 2016-2017 and Dr. Rogelio I. Espiritu, UE OECO- NSTP Director. The concept of creating this team is to have a trained emergency first responders who can cater the emergency needs inside and outside UE Manila Campus. The UE Manila- RCYC Emergency Response Team is a team of trained emergency responders, ready to be deployed at short notice, which uses pre-packed sets of standardized equipment. On the same year, UE Medical and Dental Clinic granted the UE Manila- RCYC Emergency Response Team as the emergency first responder team in UE Manila.
At the present, UE Manila- Red Cross Youth Council offers seminars to the UE community, provides first aid stations for the events which is manned by UE Manila- RCYC trained first aiders and Emergency Response Team,and provides trainings to its volunteers to make sure all volunteers of UE Manila- RCYC are well- equipped with knowledged and skills on the different services offered by the Philippine Red Cross. The UE Manila- RCYC also deploys volunteers to support the activities or deployments on different operations of Philippine Red Cross.
