Remembering Dr. Maria Rosewynn Anne Roldan Salvan

Tonight, we honored the life of Dr. Rosewynn, our colleague from the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Even though many of us knew her only briefly, she was deeply respected for her calm presence, soft spoken nature, and quiet dedication to her training.

She never complained, stayed reliable even on long days, and always helped with patient concerns without being asked. She served in Mindoro as a volunteer doctor, showing her heart for communities in need.

We also remember the small things that made her uniquely her. She did not like vegetables but loved okra. She enjoyed matcha drinks. She loved anime. She was a competitive gamer. She could move her ears on command. She invested her entire Christmas bonus in the stock market. She read tarot cards for fun and somehow made her readings feel accurate.

Behind her quiet personality was someone thoughtful, disciplined, talented, and committed to doing things the right way.

In her calm and humble way, she rose through dedication and kindness, leaving behind many wins in the lives she touched — patients she cared for, colleagues she supported, and moments she shared with us.

To the Salvan family, the DFCM stands with you. We are grateful for the time we had with your daughter, even if it was far too short.

Her memory will stay with us — with warmth, gentleness, and quiet strength.
