A two-day seminar entitled “From Vial to Vital: Enhancing Diabetic Care through Insulin Therapy” was conducted by our very own OIC Chief of Clinics, Dr. Ma Mercedes R. dela Rosa. This seminar aimed to strengthen the skills and knowledge of our dedicated nurses and nursing attendants on the proper administration of insulin to diabetic patients, ensuring safe and effective care while preventing complications.

We extend our gratitude to our hardworking OIC Hospital Director, Dr. Edwin C. Perez, for making this activity possible, and to our Chief Nurse, Ms. Tita Marie S. Salcedo, for her unwavering support to our nursing staff.

Manila, God first. ☝️

NEWS ALERT: Isko Moreno announces release of long-delayed funds worth over ₱143 million for Manila’s 896 barangays

Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso on Monday, December 8, has announced the release of several long-pending budget items for the city’s 896 barangays worth over ₱143 million, clearing backlogs that span more than two years and activating new allocations under the 2025 budget.

The move covers the Barangay Clearance Share from January 2023 to September 2025, the Barangay Development Fund for fiscal year 2025, and the 30-percent Real Property Tax (RPT) share from July to November 2025.

Domagoso said the Barangay Clearance Share represents revenues that barangays are legally entitled to receive under a city ordinance passed during his earlier term, which aligned the city with the Anti-Red Tape Act and the Ease of Doing Business law.

Manila City Treasurer Atty. Paul Vega explained that once the city shifted to a full online business permit system through Go Manila, applicants no longer had to secure clearances directly from their barangays, resulting in centralized collections that accumulated but were not remitted for years.

The Mayor likewise authorized the release of the Barangay Development Fund, set at ₱12,000 per barangay for 2025 and included in the approved city budget.

While modest in amount, the allocation is expected to support basic operational needs and small-scale community programs across Manila’s 896 barangays.

Also announced was the release of the 30 percent share of barangays from the city’s RPT collections, a mandated entitlement under the Local Government Code.

The release covering July to November 2025 is part of the city’s ongoing effort to normalize fund transfers and ensure that barangays can rely on predictable revenue flows for their frontline services.

The City Treasurer’s Office said the combined releases across all six districts amount to more than ₱143 million as of October 30, 2025.

NEWS ALERT: ‘Dapat ganito pinagagawa natin’: Isko beams with pride as Marcos praises Manila’s housing projects

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday, November 27, praised Manila’s in-city housing program as he inaugurated the newly finished San Lazaro Residences, a 15-storey vertical housing complex that broke ground during Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso’s first term.

After walking through the building and checking its amenities, Marcos remarked, “Dapat ganito pinagagawa natin,” a line Domagoso later highlighted as an endorsement of Manila's standards in public housing.

“We’re really happy that the President is inspired about the situation,” he said. “Share ko na rin, ang sabi niya, ‘Dapat ganito pinagagawa natin.’ We’ll be happy to share the idea that it is horizontal housing.”

Domagoso said the President was taken aback by the scale and quality of the facilities, which include a swimming pool, function hall, outdoor activity spaces, commercial units, and a full public health laboratory occupying the lower floors.

“Nagulat na may swimming pool, may center, two-bedroom, and so on and so forth,” he said, adding that Marcos referred to the project as a model of “livable space” for socialized housing nationwide.

Rising along Alvarez and Quiricada Streets in Sta. Cruz, the San Lazaro Residences will accommodate 382 families in 40-square-meter units fitted with two bedrooms, a kitchen, dining and living areas, and a toilet and bath.

The project cost ₱1.99 billion, financed through a Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) loan, and was built by Metro Stonerich Corporation.

Beneficiaries will contribute ₱2,000 to ₱3,000 a month, depending on income, with the payments funneled into the city’s housing trust fund for upkeep and future in-city developments.

The Mayor said San Lazaro Residences is part of a larger housing pipeline he pursued in his first term, covering both vertical and horizontal housing.

These include Tondominium 1 and 2, Binondominium, the Baseco housing community or the Basecommunity, Pedro Gil Residences, and San Sebastian Residences—alongside major civic upgrades such as the Manila Zoo, Bagong Ospital ng Maynila, Manila Science High School, Rosauro Almario Elementary School and Dr. A. Albert Elementary School.
