“ULTIMATE GIFT”
We pondered long whether to call it the “Silent Teachers Act” or the “Ultimate Gift Act.” Whichever way it goes, the health of our nation will benefit from this Bill if it becomes a Republic Act.
The most fundamental science of any health professional is ANATOMY. And evidences have proven time and again that the best way to learn anatomy is from the gift of human remains that we study in order to learn what constitutes man so we can treat them the best way we can.
Glad to be a co-author of this Bill. This just might be one of my most significant contribution to the Filipino society- the assurance that if someone donates his/her body for medical education and research, it will be treated with utmost respect and reverence to make sure that it produces competent healers for the Filipino people.
