It seems as if the park is devided into three sections:
1) The area with the overlooking monument of LAPULAPU reminds us of the old history when the chiefs of the Mactan clans fought the emperor Magellan. Further a 3D map visualizes the complex topograpfy of the philippine islands.
2) The middle area is dominated by a romantic waterpark with early morning fountains. Along the side the different gardens and with trees overshaded areas are inviting to sit down and relaxing or meditation. Olmost intentionally the RIZAL monumnet stands at the far end of the section between the romantic waterpark and the dangerous to cross Roxas Boulevard. Rizal, the Medicinal Doctor and Poet was sentenced to death because his writings (noli me tangere, mi ultimo adios) have inspired many rebells, and thus not only in the Philippines. It seems this is the destiny of strong and lonly ideologists ... either they have to revoke their own ideology or get killed...
3) The third part of the park towards parade avenue is definitifely reserved for body and soul - sport acitivites like aerobics, badminton and running are the early moring pleasures, followed by a breakfast with your friends in the surrounding eateries. Of course, sometimes it is only a small snack from the fruit and coffee sellers before the sport enthousiasts head to their workplaces... Until next morning, when everybody comes and meets again for the common recharging of energy...
And now, what is it that makes this park so special, so complicated and confusing and still so simple and honest..Just take your time and find it out for yourself. I only can promise you, you will never be boring or lonely there. Just go early morning, open your eyes, ears and heart and feel the vibrations of mother earth...togehter!
