With support from WHO, the Training of Trainers for the Youth Health Learning Package (YHLP) officially begins.

Day 1 opened conversations on gender, mental health, HIV and STIs — all anchored on helping youth advocates support their peers with accurate, age-appropriate, and inclusive health information.

More sessions tomorrow as we continue investing in youth-led health education.

“More than 60 new HIV infections are reported every day in the Philippines—most among young people.”

The World AIDS Day event in Quezon City brought people together to talk about what needs to change. Young people need places where they can ask questions without being judged. People living with HIV need to feel safe in schools, workplaces, and communities. Testing and treatment should be available not just in big cities, but also in faraway towns.

Even with the setbacks of recent years, communities have not slowed down. Health workers travel long distances to reach those who cannot visit clinics. Local groups open safe spaces for testing and support. Young people speak up, ask hard questions, and lead their peers.

Overcoming disruption means staying focused, staying connected, and making sure no one is left behind.

Violence at home is never “private”.

Violence from an intimate partner is the most common form—often endured in silence.

In the Philippines, 7.2% of women aged 15–49 have experienced intimate partner violence in their lifetime, and 3.1% in the past year.

This is preventable.
