Thirty years ago, a small family-owned pharmacy and medical supplies store run by the Claus family started in one of Batangas City’s busiest streets. Through hard work and a strong family spirit, the Claus family managed to hurdle many challenges that typically come when starting a business. After a strategic move that helped turn around the business, the company was reintroduced as MACTYCOON MARKETING. From a small over-the-counter store, the company became a key supplier of pharmaceutical products, medical supplies and equipment, catering to a wide clientele of private and government institutions in Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Laguna, and Quezon. With unstoppable market growth and demand, MacTycoon opened its central procurement center in 2003 at the country’s medical supplies’ business center—Bambang St., Sta.Cruz, Manila. Two more stores opened in Lipa City and Lemery, Batangas. The steady expansion amidst a booming medical care industry prompted the owners to open their MacTycoon Generics and Branded store line within their Bambang branch. This serves as an inspiration to Filipino entrepreneurs that a simple and small business idea could turn into gold through hard work and teamwork.
