On October 7, 2025, the UP Association of Biology Majors, in partnership with the UP School of Statistics, UP Variates, and UP Statistical Society, successfully held a blood donation drive for the benefit of the UP-PGH Adult Hematology Division.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our volunteers, 59 heroes stepped forward to donate blood — each one offering hope and healing to the patients of the Philippine General Hospital.

Every bag of blood is more than just a donation — it is a lifeline, a second chance, and a powerful act of compassion and solidarity.

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) is driven by the t(9;22) translocation, also called the Philadelphia chromosome — a fusion between chromosomes 9 and 22 that creates the BCR::ABL1 oncogene.

We may be a few days past 9/22, but it’s never too late to share this important hematology fact!

On September 23, 2025, the UP-PGH Adult Hematology Division, in partnership with the Department of Justice (DOJ), successfully held a blood donation drive. Through the overwhelming generosity of our volunteers, 70 out of 96 heroes were able to donate blood for the patients of the Philippine General Hospital.

Every bag of blood is more than just a donation — it is a lifeline, a second chance, and a profound act of justice and compassion.

True to the theme “Dugong DOJ, Dugong Makatarungan,” this meaningful effort will make a lasting impact on the lives of those who rely on timely transfusion.

This spooky season, UP ABM, in partnership with the UP Statistical Society and UP Variates, invites you to our annual 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 entitled “𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗞 𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧” happening this 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟳 at the 𝗨𝗣 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝗯𝗯𝘆!
