We strongly support Dr. Angela Aguilar for the position of Director of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) because of her unwavering commitment to inclusivity, healthcare excellence, and the well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community. As the first official faculty adviser of UP Oneโs True Nature and with her demonstrated history of promoting diversity and fostering an inclusive environment, Dr. Aguilar has shown a compassionate approach to healthcare that considers the unique needs of every patient, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. This is critical in the healthcare field, where marginalized groups, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, often experience barriers to safe, respectful, and affirmative care.
Under Dr. Aguilar's leadership, we anticipate that PGH will not only uphold but also advance a culture of inclusivity.
