The 2025 Summit will advance the implementation of the WHO Traditional Medicine Strategy 2025-2034, adopted by the 78th World Health Assembly in May 2025. The Strategy focuses on four main objectives – strengthening the evidence base for Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM); supporting safe and effective TCIM through appropriate regulatory mechanisms; integrating safe and effective TCIM into health systems; and optimizing the cross-sector value of TCIM and empowering communities.

The Institute of Herbal Medicine (IHM), National Institutes of Health, University of the Philippines Manila, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD), through the Balik Scientist Program, warmly invites you to the Exit Seminar Presentation of Balik Scientist Dr. Ivan Lawag on April 25, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the NIH Conference Room, 1st Floor, NIH Building, UP Manila, and via Zoom. Dr. Lawag will present a technical lecture titled "Applications of Advanced HPTLC in Standardizing and Authenticating Natural Products," highlighting the use of high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) in analyzing secondary metabolites and authenticating natural products, along with key accomplishments from his six-month engagement with IHM.
