Explanation: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), or simply called lupus, is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation and potential kidney involvement. MNT generally supports anti-inflammatory and bone-protective strategies, such as vitamin D supplementation to counter steroid-induced bone loss, adequate protein (but not excessive) for tissue repair and the prevention of further renal deterioration in those with lupus-related kidney complications, and omega-3 fats to reduce inflammation.
