The Mindanao State University–Panginam Healing and Wellness Center continues to strengthen its commitment to providing accessible and compassionate mental health and psychosocial support services for the community.

As part of our preparation for the continuous and improved delivery of mental health and psychosocial support services, we are pleased to share the Repair, Renovation, and Construction of Fire Exit Stairs at the PHWC Building, MSU, Marawi City, with the estimated start of the project on January 14, 2026, and target completion on May 14, 2026. This initiative ensures a safer, more secure, and more prepared environment for all students, clients, and personnel.

With sincere gratitude, we acknowledge the support of Senator Robinhood Padilla for the funding allocation that made this project possible.

We also extend our appreciation to the leadership of the Mindanao State University System President Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA, whose steadfast commitment to safety, wellness, and institutional growth continues to move our university forward.

𝙄𝙉 π™‹π™ƒπ™Šπ™π™Šπ™Ž I Community Consultation and Psychosocial Support Activity for FVE PAVE 2.0: KAELLUMAN

The Provincial Government of Basilan, in a meaningful partnership with the Mindanao State University–Panginam Healing and Wellness Center, this holy month of Ramadan, successfully conducted the β€œCommunity Consultation and Psychosocial Support Activity for Former Violent Extremists (FVE) under PAVE 2.0: KAELLUMAN” on February 19, 20, 21 & 22, 2026, across various areas in the province.

This four-day consultation and psychosocial support initiative aimed to strengthen engagement, promote healing and reintegration, and provide holistic support to Former Violent Extremists (FVE) through meaningful dialogue, reflection, and community-based assistance.

The activity covered four key areas:
β–ͺ️ February 19, 2026 – 32nd 1B, Brgy. Tumahubong, Sumisip
β–ͺ️ February 20, 2026 – 45th Battalion, Ungkaya Pukan
β–ͺ️ February 21, 2026 – 18th 1B, Campo Uno, Lamitan City
β–ͺ️ February 22, 2026 – 6th 8F 1B, Tabuk, Isabela City

The program served as a significant platform for consultation, validation, empowerment, and community reintegration.

The engagement included the Discussion and Verification of Profiling Results, an Inspirational Talk, Psychosocial Activities (Module: Myself in the Past, Present, and Future), Ways Forward under PAVE 2.0, and the Distribution of Ramadan Packages and Cash Assistance.

This initiative was a priority activity of Governor Mujiv S. Hataman, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Mojahed Cosain and other Basilan Provincial Government Department Heads, reflecting the Provincial Government’s strong commitment to peacebuilding and sustainable reintegration efforts. The activity was led by Dr. Aminoding B. Limpao, Lead of the Panginam Healing and Wellness Center, together with trained facilitators from Basilan Provincial Government.

The program also forms part of the extension and community engagement efforts of Mindanao State University under the leadership of Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA, MSU System President, reaffirming the University’s commitment to transformative service, healing, and lasting peace in the Bangsamoro region.

𝙄𝙉 π™‹π™ƒπ™Šπ™π™Šπ™Ž I STRESS MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

The Provincial Government of Basilan, in partnership with the Mindanao State University – Panginam Healing and Wellness Center, successfully conducted a Stress Management Workshop on February 10 & 11 at Raayat Hall, Basilan Provincial Capitol.

The two-day workshop aimed to promote mental well-being, strengthen resilience, and encourage healthy coping mechanisms among provincial government employees, recognizing the demands and pressures of public service.

The program was one of the priority activities of Mujiv Hataman, Governor of Basilan, reflecting his strong commitment to employee welfare and mental health support. Ma. Emily A. Trumata, Acting Provincial HRMDO, played a key role in coordinating and supporting the implementation of the activity, together with Manny C. Muarip, Provincial Administrator.

The workshop was led by Dr. Aminoding B. Limpao, the Lead of Center, together with the Center’s facilitators, equipping participants with practical strategies for managing stress and enhancing overall well-being.

This activity forms part of the continuing community engagement efforts of Mindanao State University under the leadership of Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA, MSU System President.

As part of our collective OneMSU advocacy and in line with Memorandum Order No. 2026-003-OSR, Series of 2026, on the β€œImplementation of Tulong MSUOne in Response to the Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi Fire Incident,”

We have brothers and sisters in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi who were greatly affected by this unfortunate incident. The Office of Student Regent (OSR) has already released an official post regarding this initiative, and we would like to re-echo their call to further amplify awareness and support for this fundraising activity.

All monetary donations sent through this initiative will be directly received and facilitated by our partners from the MSU–TCTO Supreme Student Council (SSC) to ensure that assistance reaches the affected MSUans promptly and properly.

Dr. Aminoding B. Limpao, Lead of Center (MSU-PHWC), served as resource person for the Basic Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Training for School Professionals – Batch 2, held on January 26–30, 2026, at KDT Manor, Cotabato City.

The training aimed to equip school professionals with foundational knowledge and practical skills in mental health and psychosocial support, enabling them to better address the psychosocial needs of learners and school communities.

This initiative is among the priority activities of Minister Kadil M. Sinolinding, Jr., MD, DPBO, Minister of Health of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-BARMM), and is led by Dr. Norman Prince D. Datumanong, MD, DPCAM, Head of the Mental Health Program, together with Ms. Meriam Malik, MHPSS Program Head.

The activity was conducted in partnership with the Mindanao State University–Panginam Healing and Wellness Center (MSU-PHWC) in support of strengthening culturally responsive and inclusive mental health services for the Bangsamoro community. The partnership between MOH-BARMM and MSU-Main PHWC reflects the high value placed by MSU System President Atty. Paisalin P. D. Tago, CPA, on promoting and providing mental health and psychosocial support services for the Bangsamoro people.

𝙄𝙉 π™‹π™ƒπ™Šπ™π™Šπ™Ž | Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Training of Trainers for Municipal and City DRRMOs

On January 22–23, 2026, the Province of Lanao del Sur – Provincial Health Office (PHO), in partnership with Mindanao State University–Panginam Healing and Wellness Center, successfully conducted the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Training of Trainers (ToT) for Municipal and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) personnel at the Provincial Social Hall, Capitol Complex, Marawi City.

The two-day training aimed to capacitate DRRMO employees with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to facilitate and cascade MHPSS sessions within their respective localities, particularly in the context of disasters, emergencies, and work-related stressors.

The activity featured in-depth sessions and inputs on Mental Health and Islam: An Overview; Understanding Disasters, Emergencies, and Related Concepts; MHPSS and the Seven Aspects of Well-Being; the MHPSS Intervention Pyramid; Psychological First Aid (PFA); Listening Sessions; and Self-Care and Work–Life Balance.

This initiative underscores a shared commitment to strengthening mental health preparedness, resilience, and compassionate response among disaster frontliners, ensuring that care for others begins with care for oneself and extends to every community served.
