Inclusion is an action, belonging is a feeling of acceptance.

Just because an Autistic student is included in a space, doesn’t mean they feel accepted or welcomed.

Inclusion is more than a location.

What are we doing to make our schools more inclusive?

Are we teaching all students and teachers about neurodiversity? About acceptance? About the power of human perspectives and differences?

Diversity. Equity. Inclusion. Belonging.

We have work to do.

I am spending the Holy Week break reflecting on some parts of the day and mostly, creating new materials for the kids to use in our center. It is therapeutic and rewarding at the same time. I am now thinking about my students’ happy faces when they see these.

Our Story

I am an occupational therapist for more than 20 years. My experience as a pediatric and school-based occupational therapist has given me the opportunity to work with families who have children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, communication disorders, sensory processing disorders and a lot more.

With this period of quarantine in the Philippines, isolation, uncertainty, fear and lack of financial means to sustain the learning and therapy of many of children with disabilities has placed them out of their routines, academic support and private therapy programs.

I am responding to this global COVID-19 challenge by empowering parents and helping them with therapeutic activities at home via free online consultations. I believe that children with disabilities should have continuous access to learning, play and communication.
