Lahat ng buntis ay inaanyayahan at pinapayuhang magpasuri ng dugo upang malaman kung sila ay may HIV, Syphilis at Hepa dahil ang mga impeksyong ito ay maaaring maipasa ng ina sa kanilang anak habang sila'y nagbubuntis. Sa ganitong paraan, sinumang magpositibo sa alin mang impeksyon ay sasailalim agad sa gamutan upang mapigilan ang pagkahawa ng sanggol.
