Commissioner Faydah Maniri Dumarpa, the Commission on Human Rights’ Focal Commissioner for Torture Prevention, led a monitoring visit in our Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital in Bataan last 23 April 2025. Together with the CHR Prevention Team, the visit reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to uphold the rights and dignity of all persons, especially those receiving psychiatric care.

This initiative is part of CHR’s visitorial mandate under the Mental Health Act (RA 11036), which authorizes the Commission to inspect mental health facilities—recognized as places of detention—to ensure that treatment and conditions align with national laws and international human rights standards.

Simula 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘆𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗲 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, alinsunod sa 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱-𝟬𝟮𝟰, ipapatupad ng Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital ang patakaran na magkaroon ng watcher o taga-bantay para sa bawat pasyente na maa-admit sa 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 (𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗨), 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟰.

Ang hakbang na ito ay alinsunod sa dedikasyon ng ospital na masiguro ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng mga pasyente ng MMWGH.

Ang pagkakaroon ng bantay sa oras ng admission ay napakahalaga upang mapangalagaan ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng pasyente, magbigay ng emosyonal na suporta, tumulong sa pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan, at masubaybayan nang tuloy-tuloy ang kalagayan ng pasyente habang siya ay sumasailalim ng gamutan..
