SOFT DRINKS DO NOT CAUSE UTI's, BUT THEY CAN MAKE THE SYMPTOMS WORSE.
Many people think that drinking too many soft drinks causes urinary tract infections (UTIs), but this is not true. UTIs are caused by bacteria, usually Escherichia coli (E. coli), entering the urinary tract. Soft drinks are not the direct cause of UTI's, "BUT THEY CAN STILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON YOUR HEALTH AND MAY AFFECT THE CONDITION IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A UTI."
Soft drinks, especially those with high sugar content, can worsen a UTI. The sugar in these drinks provides nourishment for bacteria, allowing them to grow and spread more quickly. Additionally, drinking large amounts of soft drinks can irritate the bladder, causing more discomfort during a UTI.
To avoid worsening a UTI, it is important to limit your intake of sugary beverages, acidic foods, spicy foods, caffeinated drinks, alcohol, carbonated drinks, artificial sweeteners, processed and preserved foods, dairy products, and high-fat foods.
Instead, drink plenty of water to stay healthy and promote faster recovery. Water helps flush bacteria from the urinary tract and supports overall well-being. Making healthy food and drink choices is essential for protecting your body and improving your health.

UTI is a bacterial infection in the urinary tract. Soft drinks might be a factor in UTIs but do not cause the infection directly. Some sodas, such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, RC Cola, Sprite, 7-Up, etc. are not diuretics, which can lead to dehydration with excessive consumption.
