History:
In 1927, 12 toughies formed a protective group called TIKLOS and ruled the area protecting its residents from bad elements going even as far as Ormoc. The group headed by Nicolas Viovicente as the teniente with eleven others as members namely; Victorian Viovicente, Paulo Ranolas, Fausto Beltran, Francisco Beltran, Segundo Lorenzo, Sebastian Decio, Pedro Quin, Vincente Quin, Saldo Cagwing,
and Regino Simbahon. When Nicolas Viovicente died, the place was named after him, honoring his surname VIOVICENTE by the residents. San Vicente Ferrer as their patron saint, thus the name Viovicente was later changed to San Vicente. San Vicente, is located along the hillside, surrounded by rice farms, that you can see from miles away. Since then, San Vicente became one of the biggest Barangays in Matag-ob Municipality, without the kind hearted of Mr. Leonardo "Leon" Pandac, donating a big lot, for his village, maybe even now the Brgy. does not have their own place to build a Basketball Court, where the Brgy. Hall and the Community Buildings are located. Every year, San Vicente celebrated their feast, in the name of their Saint Patron San Vicente Ferrer, the feast celebration will last for 2 days, which held every 4th - 5th of March and finally was moved to April 4th -5th. San Vicente also offer a very nice, state of the art School of Education, from Day Care to Grade School (from 1 - 6). Six prominent figures have already serve in terms of Kapitan in Barangay and they are:
