BREAKING | DAVAO ORIENTAL TO BE PLACED UNDER ECQ
The Province of Davao Oriental will be placed under a two-week Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) starting on September 8 to September 21.
This was unanimously agreed upon by all local chief executives of the province led by Governor Nelson Dayanghirang during an emergency meeting held earlier today to address the alarming surge of COVD-19 cases in the province.
Salient policies under the ECQ include the following:
β
Curfew hours will be from 8 oβclock in the evening up to 5 oβclock in the morning.
β
24-hour liquor ban
β
Wakes are limited to only three days.
β
Strict border control to deter non-essential travels. There will be increased visibility of law enforcers who will give citation tickets to violators
β
Strict establishment monitoring
The Provincial Task Force on COVID-19 underscores and reminds the public that this time there will be strict enforcement of the ECQ guidelines.
PTF on COVID-19 Action Officer Dr. Reden Bersaldo said that the ECQ will be implemented purposely to allow the provinceβs healthcare sector to recuperate and give them time to concentrate on the recovery and treatment of the existing COVID-19 cases.
As of the latest report, the COVID-19 cases in the province have already reached 5,583, of which 1,227 are active. Meanwhile, the number of deaths has already reached 159, prompting the Provincial Task Force to heighten protocols to prevent the further spread of the virus. PIO
