The City Health Office of Mati announces its operational schedule for Holy Week. Pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 027, s. 2026, on the adoption of work arrangements on April 1, 2026, and Proclamation No. 1006, Maundy Thursday (April 2, 2026) and Good Friday (April 3, 2026) are regular holidays.

Operations will be as follows:

✅️April 1 (Holy Wednesday): Full-day operations from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. All primary health care services are available.

✅️April 2 (Maundy Thursday) and April 3 (Good Friday): The City Health Office Main, Super Health Center - Central, and all Barangay Health Stations are CLOSED.

✅️April 6 (Monday): Regular operations resume fully during standard office hours. 8:00AM - 5:00PM

✅️24/7 operations will be maintained for the City of Mati Balay Paanakan, Crisis Intervention Unit, and Emergency Medical Services.

‼️🙏As we observe Holy Week, we encourage everyone to stay safe and prioritize their health. Please take note of the following:

💧️Stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, especially if participating in religious processions or outdoor activities.

🍲Practice proper food safety and hygiene—ensure meals are cooked thoroughly and stored properly to prevent foodborne illnesses.

🧳️If traveling, plan ahead and keep emergency contact numbers handy. Avoid overcrowded areas when possible, and practice good respiratory etiquette.

1,376 NA MGA PDLs SA DAVAO REGION NAKATANGGAP NG LIBRENG TB SCREENING MULA SA DOH
Nakatanggap ng libreng Tuberculosis (TB) screening ang mga Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) sa iba’t ibang bilangguan sa rehiyon bilang bahagi ng simultaneous Active Case Finding (ACF) na isinagawa ng DOH Davao ngayong araw, katuwang ang Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) at mga Provincial at City Health Offices.
Kasabay ng paggunita sa World TB Day, layunin ng DOH na mapalawak ang pagtukoy ng TB cases sa mga lugar na may mas mataas na panganib tulad ng mga kulungan, kung saan maaaring mabilis kumalat ang sakit dahil sa siksikan at limitadong bentilasyon.
Isinailalim ang mga PDLs sa TB screening, risk assessment, chest X-ray, at sputum testing upang maagang matukoy ang mga posibleng kaso ng sakit. Ang mga makukumpirmang may TB ay agad na sinimulan sa gamutan, habang ang kanilang mga close contacts ay sinuri para sa posibleng TB preventive treatment.
Isinagawa ang aktibidad sa Davao del Sur Provincial Rehabilitation Center, Davao City BJMP Female Dormitory, Davao del Norte Tagum City Jail, Davao Penal Colony (DAPECOL), Davao de Oro BJMP Montevista, at Davao Oriental Mati Provincial Jail.
Sa pamamagitan ng aktibidad na ito, patuloy na isinusulong ng DOH, katuwang ang mga lokal na pamahalaan at partner agencies, ang mas maagang pagtukoy at agarang gamutan ng TB upang mapigilan ang pagkalat nito sa loob at labas ng mga pasilidad.

📢WORLD TB DAY MARKED WITH SCREENING SERVICES FOR DAVAO ORIENTAL PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY Free chest X-ray and HIV screening conducted to support national goal of ending TB

On March 24, 2026 – World TB Day – joint health teams brought essential screening services to 292 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) at the Davao Oriental Provincial Jail, Sitio Tagbobolo, Brgy. Sainz, Mati City.

The activity was led by the Department of Health (DOH) XI, with Ms. Evelyn Gelito, RN (Regional National Tuberculosis Program Coordinator) representing the agency. In partnership with Provincial Health Office spearheaded by Dr. Reden Bersaldo Provincial Health Officer, the City Health Office of Mati headed by Dr. Maribeth Hiponia -Asst. City Health officer, NTP coordinators, Brgy. Captain Ranil Zamora of Brgy. Sainz, and Provincial Warden Apollo Conde.

This initiative aligned with this year’s World TB Day theme: YES! Pilipinas can . Magpasuri, magpagamot at mag-TPTodo para protektado. It focused on active case-finding among vulnerable groups like PDLs, where TB transmission risks are higher.

The National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) of the DOH is working toward a TB-free Philippines by strengthening cascade of care through proper screening, accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and prevention measures. During the event, free chest X-rays for TB detection and HIV screening were provided to identify and treat affected PDLs promptly.
