Alam mo bang maraming cancer patients ang kailangan ng blood transfusion during their treatment? A single transfusion typically requires 3 units of blood, and many patients may need multiple transfusions. While cancer treatments are advancing, the need for blood remains constant. Your donation doesn't just help one person. Your donation supports families fighting cancer together.

My grandfather succumbed to cancer when I was in medical school. I have seen how cancer takes the sparkle out of your eyes, how it sucks out the strength from your body, and how it tries to vanquish all the hope that you have left. However, during that difficult time in my grandfather's journey, I have also seen how cancer brings the family and health care team together in comfort and compassion. The human spirit is stronger than we believe as long as we have great love and support. I went to oncology hoping and praying that I can give the adequate holistic care each patient with cancer deserves.

With how dynamic oncology is, cancer should not be considered as a death sentence. There are new medications and treatments to be able to fight this dreadful disease. What motivates me, aside from these advancements, is being able to help the patients navigate this difficult time in their lives. It truly makes a difference. Being able to see my patients-- who either show improvement, get cured, go back to work, or on the other hand even be comfortable, and die with dignity is life changing. Guiding them in their journey and being a good health care partner is what keeps me going.

"Cancer is more than just a medical diagnosis—it’s a deeply personal matter. Behind every diagnosis lies a unique human story - stories of grief, pain, healing, resilience, love and more. That’s why a people-centered approach to cancer care that fully integrates each individual’s unique needs, with compassion and empathy, leads to the best health outcomes.

This February 4, on World Cancer Day, let's come together to rewrite the future of cancer care - one where the needs of people and communities come first.

Get involved in any way you can.
Because together, we can create change.
Together, we are "

Sunday reflection..

There are some days when the sadness of missing someone overpowers us too much that we forget how blessed we are to have known them. Other days, the grief seems lighter and we feel the gratitude and warmth of their love. It's okay to feel these changes throughout the journey of navigating our grief-- similar to various emotions we felt in the shared relationship we had when they were still with us on earth. Despite these feelings, one thing remains-- we know we will still love them and remember them always.

Be kind to yourself this Sunday evening.
