Healthy Youth, Healthy Future: Empowering the Next Generation Through Health
In an inspiring collaboration to promote youth wellness, Philippines and the PHAPCares Foundation, in partnership with Iloilo Provincial Health Office, have launched the Healthy Youth, Healthy Future program—an initiative aimed at empowering Filipino adolescents through health education, early disease prevention, and access to healthcare services.
This meaningful program focuses on raising awareness and building healthy habits among young people to help them lead productive, illness-free lives. With the understanding that today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders, the program promotes the idea that investing in young people’s health is investing in the nation’s future.
Through a series of health forums, school-based engagements, and community outreach, the initiative addresses common youth health issues such as non-communicable diseases (NCDs), mental health, nutrition, and reproductive health. It also encourages active participation of parents, educators, and local health providers in promoting holistic adolescent well-being.
The launching was held at the Mina National High School and services such as Philippine Health Insurance profiling, Free X-ray, Vital Signs taking, and fluoride varnish were provided to the learners, educators, and community members.
The event was graced by the presence of Vice Governor Lee Ann Debuque, Municipal Mayor Rey Grabato with members of the Sanggunian, Dr. Ma. Socorro Quinon, and Dr. Rodney Labis from the Iloilo Provincial Health Office.
The Municipality of Mina expresses its heartfelt gratitude for being one of the chosen municipalities to benefit from this initiative. Through this program, Mina’s youth are encouraged to make informed choices and become champions of health in their community—paving the way for a healthier, brighter future.
