⚠️ CASE ALERT: CORNEAL INJURY FROM UNPRESCRIBED CONTACT LENSES

👩‍⚕️ Patient Profile:
18-year-old female presented with severe left eye pain, tearing, and burning sensation 3 days prior to consult.

📖 WHAT HAPPENED? (REAL CASE)
Patient admitted to using unprescribed colored soft contact lenses purchased from an unauthorized vendor at a mall in 138 Mall.
❌ No proper fitting
❌ No lubricating eye drops
❌ No cleaning/disinfection solution

She wore the lenses almost the entire day.
Due to dryness, the lens adhered tightly to the cornea, making removal difficult.

👉 Patient applied excessive pressure just to remove the lens.

🚨 AFTER REMOVAL

Real/actual Case: A patient came into the clinic with chief complaint of Foreign body sensation on his left eye. The patient disclosed that while he was working using a metal grinder, a piece of metal went inside his left eye. He also disclosed that he was not wearing any protective eyewear when the accident happened.

Comprehenive eye examination/assessment revealed:
(+) Conjunctival redness, left eye
(+) Corneal Irregularity, left eye: evident by corneal foreign body infiltration with rust ring formation located approximately 5 o'clock, inferio-temporal.
