The activity was facilitated by Ms. Aileen A. Cabahug, RN, Nurse III and Municipal BHW Coordinator.

The meeting commenced with a prayer, singing of the Philippine National Anthem, and an inspiring opening message from BHW Federation President Ms. Myra Paloma, who recognized the unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions of the Barangay Health Workers in promoting the health and well-being of their respective communities.

One of the highlights of the activity was the orientation on Anthropometric Measurement, Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (PIMAM), and the First 1,000 Days Program conducted by Ms. Alzenjoan Icalina, NDDP-DOH. The session emphasized the importance of proper nutrition assessment, early identification of malnutrition, and the critical role of the first 1,000 days in ensuring optimal growth and development of children. To strengthen learning and practical application, participants were provided with educational flyers and MUAC (Mid-Upper Arm Circumference) tapes and were given hands-on demonstrations and exercises on proper MUAC measurement. Discussions on Pinggang Pinoy were also conducted to reinforce healthy eating practices and nutrition education at the community level.

Meanwhile, Mr. Johnson Michael Laspobres, Puro Kalusugan Focal Person and NDP-DOH, discussed the Puro Kalusugan Profiling System. Participants were oriented on the proper accomplishment of profiling forms and were guided on how accurate household data collection can help identify health needs and support evidence-based community health interventions.

Another significant part of the meeting was the discussion on BHW Connect and BHW Medical Assistance by Dr. Jovette S. Guinal, DMO V from the Provincial DOH Office of Lanao del Norte. The session generated active participation from the BHWs, with numerous questions raised regarding their rights, benefits, and welfare. Topics such as the Magna Carta for Barangay Health Workers, available medical assistance programs, and other support mechanisms were thoroughly discussed, providing valuable clarification and guidance to the participants.

Dr. Maria Filipina C. Camins, Municipal Health Officer, also discussed the PhilHealth YAKAP Program, highlighting its benefits and its role in ensuring better access to healthcare services for the community.

The meeting also served as a venue for discussing important concerns and updates affecting the BHW workforce. Among the matters tackled was the provision of uniforms for all Barangay Health Workers, reflecting the municipality's continued support and recognition of their dedicated service.

The activity strengthened the knowledge, skills, and motivation of the Barangay Health Workers, empowering them to become more effective frontline health partners in delivering quality health and nutrition services. Through continuous capacity-building activities such as this, the Municipality of Tubod remains committed to improving community health outcomes and supporting the vital role of BHWs in achieving healthier and more resilient communities.

Through these discussions, the participants learned the value of empathy, patience, understanding, and effective communication in building trust and maintaining good relationships with clients and colleagues.

The training served as a valuable opportunity for RHU personnel to enhance not only their knowledge of laws and policies but also their attitudes and skills in customer service and interpersonal relations. It reminded everyone that excellent healthcare service is not only about providing medical assistance but also about treating clients with courtesy, respect, compassion, and professionalism.
