As physicians, we often talk about probabilities and risks.

Statistically, it’s uncommon for spouses to BOTH develop cancer — but medicine is about people, not numbers.

This couple, BOTH my patients, faced a cancer diagnosis (colon and breast), the same fears, and the same treatments — side by side. Today, BOTH are doing well.

Their story is a reminder that RESILIENCE, love, and support matter immensely in healing. A humbling and hopeful way to begin the year.

May we all have a healthy new year this 2026.
