STATEMENT OF INTENT AND VISION FOR PAP
My motivation to serve on the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP) Board stems from a deep commitment to advancing psychology in the Philippines and improving community well-being. I am passionate about promoting mental health awareness and services nationwide, emphasizing evidence-based practices and culturally relevant approaches. Serving on the Board will enable me to influence policy development, capacity-building programs, and collaborative initiatives to address critical issues such as su***de prevention, anxiety management, and resilience-building.
My vision for PAP is to advance the profession by promoting scientific rigor, ethical practice, and social relevance. I aim to enhance PAP’s role as a unifying platform for psychologists across diverse specializations, supporting collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Strengthening professional development is a priority, through evidence-based workshops, seminars, and conferences addressing emerging challenges. Expanding virtual training and hybrid events will increase accessibility, empowering psychologists in remote regions.
I will advocate for integrating psychological science into public policy and community programs, focusing on mental health literacy, su***de prevention, and psychosocial support for vulnerable populations. Collaboration with government and non-government organizations will be essential in broadening PAP’s impact.
Prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the profession and our communities is fundamental. I will support capacity-building initiatives to empower early-career psychologists and students, ensuring the next generation is equipped with strong ethical foundations and advanced competencies.
