Whether in a clinic or a farm, from 9 to 5 and beyond… We salute every laborer and worker that moves and shapes our society.

In partnership with Healthway Cancer Care Hospital, our Flagship team had the privilege of training nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals on palliative care through ELNEC (End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium).

Nurses Malou Tupaz, Shanelle Jopio-Sion, Mitch Talavera shared their expert insights through the years of serving our palliative care patients.

Spiritual care is about finding meaning, connection, and peace in the middle of life's ups and downs. It’s about the questions that weigh on our hearts and the hope that keeps us anchored. In this episode of Usapang Pag-Asa, we dive deep into how our Spiritual Care Provider, Tita Cottie Del Rosario, shows the importance of spiritual well-being and how it can be a powerful source of strength for patients and families alike.

As The Ruth Foundation continues to advocate for compassionate care, we have begun partnering with organizations that need help teaching their community members about palliative care.

We held a series of Compassionate Communities workshops at Elsie Gaches Village (EGV) to kickstart this program.

EGV provides rehabilitation and support for various conditions, including autism, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy. We trained their houseparents and other staff the holistic approach of palliative care.

"To serve patients with humility means seeing them not as cases to be solved but as persons to be loved. It means respecting their dignity even when their bodies fail them. And it means accepting, with grace, that despite all our training, there are times when the most healing thing we can offer is kindness."

Dr. Raymond Cruz recounts the humility and heart of service it takes to administer care on the latest The Medical Philosopher article. Visit ruth.ph/tmp to read more.

We look forward to this collaboration that can help strengthen the delivery of compassionate and quality end-of-life care for all Filipinos.
