Members of the 1st (Davao de Oro) Ready Reserve Field Artillery Battery (RRFAB) under the leadership of Captain Mark Anthony S Libuangan PA (RES) Municipal Mayor, Laak, Davao de Oro had participated the first live fire exercise (LIVEX) on September 9-10 2025.

The LIVEX will capacitate reservists under the newly formed RR FA Battery in Davao de Oro in developing disciplined, skilled and mission ready- citizen soldiers capable of handling heavy equipment like artillery rounds and its operating system demonstrated during the gun drills.

Indeed, as part of the culmination of the training, LIVEX was conducted at Banaybanay, Davao Oriental fire base under the supervision of 2nd Field Artillery Battalion, Artillery Regiment, Philippine Army.

Earlier this month, we are grateful for the support extended by the 1001st Infantry (PAG-ASA) Brigade 10ID, PA led by Brigadier General Ronnie B Babac PA for the successful conduct of Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony on September 3, 2025 between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) thru the 11RCDG, RESCOM, PA based in Camp San Gabriel, Mintal, Tugbok Dist., Davao City and APEX Mining Co. Inc. led by Mr. Luis R. Sarmiento, President and CEO for acceding to be one of the AFP's Affiliated Reserve Units (AFPARU) at the Headquarters 1001st Inf Bde, Barangay Mapaang, Maco, Davao de Oro.

The application process is guided by Cir. 2 GHQ, AFP which outlines the requirements and procedures for private companies, government agencies and other agencies to affiliate with the AFP and form their own reserve unit.

Under this arrangement, the employees who are qualified to be reservists would form a dedicated unit receiving training and support from the AFP while remaining primarily focus on their civilian roles.

This will not only enhances the readiness of the AFP’s reserve force but also strengthens private public partnership in national security and disaster preparedness.
