Hindi lahat ng naririnig natin ay totoo — lalo na pagdating sa HIV. Let’s set the record straight! 🧠

🚫 MYTH: Mahahawa ka sa yakap, holding hands, o pagkain sa iisang plato.
✅ FACT: HINDI! Safe ang simpleng skin-to-skin contact. Hindi ka mahahawa sa ganito.

🚫 MYTH: Kapag healthy ang itsura, HIV-free na.
✅ FACT: Hindi basehan ang itsura! Testing lang ang way para makasigurado.

🚫 MYTH: Karma ‘yan o parusa.
✅ FACT: HIV is a medical condition, not a moral issue. Walang dapat ikahiya.

🚫 MYTH: Wala nang pag-asa.
✅ FACT: May ART o Anti-Retroviral Treatment na ngayon. Kayang maging undetectable at mamuhay nang healthy!

Last July 16, 2025, FPOP CamSur Chapter, in collaboration with JCI Nagueña, successfully conducted a Sexual and Reproductive Health Medical Mission (SRHMM) under RESPOND Project held at Brgy. Maangas, Presentacion, Camarines Sur.

This initiative provided a wide range of free services, including medical check-ups, family planning, HIV testing dental extractions, rabies vaccinations, and legal consultations for those in need of guidance and support. To ensure continuity of care, a pharmacy section was also provided, where beneficiaries received free medicines after their consultations and treatments. 💊🦷💉⚖️

We sincerely thank our partner organization, especially their Project Head, Dr. Anamarie Villavicencio-Relleta, DVM, for making this collaboration possible and for their hands-on leadership throughout the planning and implementation process. A heartfelt thank you as well to their OB-GYN, Dr. Remelou G. Alfelor, for providing compassionate and quality reproductive health services. Also present during the mission was Ms. Zheryl P. Zamora, FPOP CamSur’s Chapter Program Manager, who supported the team throughout the activity. 👩‍⚕️🌸

Huge thanks to all the midwives, nurses, doctors, dentists, legal professionals, and volunteers who shared their time and expertise to make this mission a success. 💙💛

On a cloudy Monday, June 16, 2025, the FPOP Camsur Chapter went to Brgy. LGU Buenavista San Fernando Camarines Sur, together with Respond Project SRHMM

Our commitment to reproductive health is still progressive, this medical mission is dedicated to providing essential care, education, and support to those affected by typhoon Kristine. We also conduct prenatal check-up, HIV Testing, giving contraceptives and many more.

Together with Respond Project we would like to thank to all the participants and Brgy. Kapitan: Brgy. Kagawad, with ma'am Zheryl Zamora, Jinky Sanico and BHW, Brgy. Officias, of Brgy. LGU Buenavista San Fernando, Camarines Sur, and youth volunteers of the FPOP CamSur, we successfuly empower individuals and communities to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.

✨𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝑽𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔, 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔✨

Last June 21–22, 2025, FPOP CamSur was invited to take part in a two-day Peer Educators Training with Community-Based Screening, organized in partnership with the City Health Office of Naga, Sustained Health Initiatives of the Philippines Naga City Site, Gentlemen Bicol, and the Sangguniang Barangay of Pacol.

Through this collaborative effort, youth leaders and LGBTQIA+ members gathered to deepen their understanding of sexual and reproductive health and rights, strengthen peer support, and explore ways to make health services more accessible within their local communities. 🤝💬

The participation of FPOP Kabataang CamSur showcased their unwavering dedication to building safer, more informed, and inclusive spaces for every young person in the community and beyond. 🌍💖

𝓚𝓷𝓸𝔀 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓽𝓾𝓼, 𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓬𝓽 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓯𝓾𝓽𝓾𝓻𝓮 🛡️

Last June 21, 2025, FPOP CamSur, in partnership with JCI Naga Inc., held a meaningful event dedicated to promoting HIV awareness, in line with the theme: “HIBLA: Wearing Safety, Dignity, and Dialogue.” From 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, we provided free HIV testing & counseling, along with free condom distribution to promote safe and responsible sexual practices for all.

At 1:40 PM onwards, an HIV Awareness Talk and open forum was conducted by Mx. Lloyd “Binibining L” Delos Angeles. The talk tackled the alarming rise of HIV cases in the Philippines, early symptoms and detection, and clarified the difference between HIV, AIDS, and other STIs. The session also explained how HIV is transmitted, emphasized that it’s not spread through casual contact, and highlighted effective prevention methods like consistent condom use and regular testing. Most importantly, the speaker shed light on the psychosocial impact of HIV and stressed the importance of breaking the stigma and silence surrounding it—for everyone, regardless of age or identity.

We cordially express our deepest gratitude to our partner organization,JCI Naga Inc., for standing with us in this shared advocacy; to our ever-inspiring speaker, Mx. Lloyd “Binibining L” Delos Angeles; to our HIV counselors, who provided guidance and support throughout the day; and to all the organizers, volunteers, and staff whose hard work made this initiative a success. 🫂💖
