After 14 years of global research, advocacy, and thousands of voices finally being heard, Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) has officially been renamed Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) as of May 12, 2026.

The old name was misleading because not everyone has cysts, and the condition goes far beyond the ovaries. PMOS better reflects what this condition truly is: a complex, whole-body hormonal and metabolic syndrome affecting over 170 million women worldwide.
