I'm Jovi Alexis Motos, a Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patient 25 years old from Brgy. Banilad,Nasugbu,Batangas.
I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 secondary to Chronic Glomerulonephritis and undergoes maintenace hemodialysis treatment twice a week frequency to sustain life since 2017.
Now, I’ve been on dialysis for 6 years The dialysis has a big effect in my life, considering the time I spent in dialysis center, 4hrs each session every Monday and Thursday. I started having dialysis when I was 3rd year College, sometimes I go to school after dialysis to take exams or quizzes, with the grace of God I graduated college. I tried to apply to some hotels but no one accepted me and I understand that, I then hope to find a job so that I can somehow help with my medication because my parents' income is not enough to support the medication and house expenses, my father is a family driver and my mother is a maid. We are four siblings, I am the eldest, my brother died in car accident and my two sisters are still studying (Grade 10 and 1st year College) One of them is a working student, I want to help them, I should be the one to help our family being the eldest. But other things happen, they are now the one who are sacrificing for me, enduring the hard work to provide for my needs, and so I want to repay their hard work and sacrifices.
My doctor advised me to have a Kidney Transplant during my first year of dialysis, I didn't think about getting a transplant then because of the huge cost and I never thought of my relatives being the donor because I don't want them to suffer and go through surgery, even though my situation is difficult for me. But as time goes by, I felt that it will be better if I will have a transplant. Because it will reduce their suffering from seeing me struggling. Now, I realized that there are still things I want to do in life, but cannot, due to my dialysis schedule, I want things to be normal again. I want to make my dream come true. I realized that I still want to do a lot, I want to be with my loved ones, I want to build my own family, I want to see my sisters become successful, I want to be normal again, I want to return all of the sacrifices of my family, I want to live for a long time. I know at the right time, the Lord will grant my dream, I am always praying for a normal life again. 💖
My mother offered to donate one of her kidneys to me. It's just that we can't start our "work up" (a series of test for both of us to determine compatability and readiness). Now our biggest problem is the lack of funds. Since we have maximized our funds in medication since I was diagnosed with CKD. Also we are considering the amount of numerous medications needed after the transplant, which is needed to avoid the new kidney being rejected by my body, it will cost P50K-P60K per month for 6 months and the amount of operation costing 1.2M - 1.8M but we can get a discount using PhilHealth and Guarantee Letter.
I hope that you will help me to fulfill my dream of having a new healthy kidney through Kidney Transplant. This operation will be of great help to me.
We are humbly seeking for your financial assistance to be used for my medical expenses. Any amount of aid will be deeply appreciated.
