Hello parents! We know that it is very difficult to find slots for speech therapy right now. But please do not fall for alternative services masquerading as “speech therapy”.
Speech & Language Therapy should only be conducted by Speech-Language Pathologists (Speech Therapists). Our profession is regulated by the PRC. It is your right as clients to get the credentials of your therapist. Legitimate SLPs will have the RSLP (Registered Speech-Language Pathologist) or CSP-PASP (Certified Speech Pathologist - Philippine Association of Speech Pathologists) title. Only the following institutions produce SLPs: UP Manila, UST, DLSHSI, and Cebu Doctors’ University.
Fake speech pathologists are dangerous because they lack the proper training and credentials required to provide effective speech therapy services. Without the necessary knowledge and expertise, they may offer incorrect assessments and ineffective treatments, potentially causing harm to individuals seeking help for their communication difficulties.
Choosing a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist ensures that individuals receive reliable and evidence-based care, leading to better outcomes and improved communication skills. Relying on fake speech pathologists can lead to delayed progress, increased frustration, wasted time, and money on ineffective therapies, and possibly worsening communication challenges. It's crucial to verify the credentials of any healthcare professional before seeking their services to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Magandang araw mga magulang! Alam namin na mahirap humanap ng slot para sa speech therapy sa panahong ito. Pero huwag po sana kayong padadala sa mga alternatibong serbisyo na nagpapanggap na "speech therapy".
Ang Speech & Language Therapy ay dapat lamang isagawa ng mga Speech-Language Pathologists (Speech Therapists). Ang aming propesyon ay regulado ng PRC. Karapatan ninyo bilang mga kliyente na malaman ang mga kredensyal ng inyong therapist. Ang lehitimong SLPs ay mayroong titulo na RSLP (Registered Speech-Language Pathologist) o CSP-PASP (Certified Speech Pathologist - Philippine Association of Speech Pathologists). Ang mga sumusunod na institusyon lamang ang mayroong kurso na Speech-Language Pathology: UP Manila, UST, DLSHSI, at Cebu Doctors’ University.
Ang mga pekeng speech therapists ay mapanganib dahil kulang sila sa tamang pagsasanay at kredensyal na kinakailangan upang magbigay ng epektibong serbisyo. Nang walang sapat na kaalaman at kasanayan, maaaring mag-alok sila ng maling assessment at hindi epektibong mga treatment, na maaring magdulot lamang ng pinsala sa mga taong humihingi ng tulong para sa kanilang mga suliranin sa komunikasyon.
Ang pagpili ng isang lisensyado at sertipikadong speech-language pathologist ay tiyak na magbibigay ng mapagkakatiwalaan at evidence-based na pangangalaga at mas magandang resulta. Ang pagtitiwala sa mga pekeng speech pathologists ay maaaring magresulta sa pagkaantala ng pag-improve, pagdagdag ng pagkadismaya, pag-aaksaya ng oras at pera sa mga hindi epektibong therapy, at maaari pang mapalala ang mga suliranin sa komunikasyon. Mahalaga na masiguro ang mga kredensyal ng anumang propesyonal bago tanggapin ang kanilang serbisyo upang matiyak ang ligtas at epektibong serbisyo.
