Congratulations to DOH Secretary Teodoro “Ted” Herbosa
on His Appointment as President of the 78th World Health Assembly!

The Quezon City Medical Society proudly congratulates our esteemed member, Department of Health Secretary Teodoro “Ted” Herbosa, on his formal oath-taking as President of the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA) held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

This historic milestone marks the first time the Philippines will chair the WHA, the highest decision-making body in global health, composed of 194 member countries.

We are immensely proud of Secretary Herbosa’s leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing health both nationally and globally. We wish him continued success and wisdom as he undertakes this significant responsibility on the world stage.

Junior Doctors Network Activity at the 118th PMA Annual Convention

The Junior Doctors Network (JDN) proudly held a two-part activity during the 118th Philippine Medical Association Annual Convention, centering on the theme of Cellphone Photography—a creative outlet and powerful tool for modern medical professionals.

PART I: JUNIOR DOCTORS NETWORK LAUNCHING

The session opened with an invocation and inspirational message from Dr. Luz P. Acosta-Barrientos, PMA Vice President, followed by welcome remarks from Dr. Wilfredo S. Tagle, Chairman of the Junior Doctors Network.
Dr. Marla Mae Carillaga, and Dr. Yujin Song, JDN Membership Director, delivered messages on behalf of the Junior Doctors Network, setting the tone for collaboration and innovation among young physicians.

PART II: CELLPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP & COMPETITION

The second half featured a captivating lecture on mobile photography delivered by Mr. J**s Ramiscal, Digital Creator and Photographer, with an introduction by Dr. Dean Hernando A. Zenarosa, President of the Quezon City Medical Society. The engaging session empowered participants to see the world through a creative lens—right from their smartphones.

The event culminated in a Photo Competition with 45 impressive entries. Behind-the-scenes moments were captured by Cath Reodique, showcasing the vibrant energy and enthusiasm of our junior doctors.

Congratulations, Team QCMS!

We are proud to celebrate our amazing team—Dr. Charles Luzano, Dr. Carl Luzano, Dr. Rafael Angelo Cauilan and Dr. Marc De Guzman—for winning 1st place in the inaugural PMA Intercomponent Society 3x3 Basketball Tournament during the 118th Philippine Medical Association (PMA) Annual Convention and Scientific Meetings!

Held on May 13, 2025, at the UNILAB Facility in Mandaluyong, the tournament gathered teams from all over the country for a day of camaraderie, competition, and wellness.

This victory is a testament to the strength, unity, and sportsmanship of our QCMS members—proving that we not only care for the mind and spirit but also champion physical health and teamwork.
