Our very own, Dr. Tricia Ramos, has shared her opinions as a resource speaker for GMA Public Affairs on this case of pneumonia in a 4-month young infant.
Pneumonia is a serious infection that affects the breathing and lung function of a young child. My Pedia Network strongly recommends the following steps in making sure your little ones are safe!
✅ Get them vaccinated (Pneumococcal, HiB, Influenza vaccine and others)
- The vaccines against the common bacterial and viral causes of pneumonia are part of the primary series that can be received from our local health centers for FREE!
- They are also available from your pediatrician partners nearest your area.
✅ Practice good hygiene by handwashing with soap and water and observing proper cough etiquette.
✅ Ensure proper nutrition by providing a well-balanced diet.
✅ Avoid exposure to smoke and pollution.
✅ Breastfeed per demand for natural immunity against infections.
A healthy child is a happy child! 💙 Keep them protected!
