Sadly, there is only 1 OT per 30,000 Filipino children. It’s important that you verify the licensure status of your therapists. Check their verification through the PRC website.

This image comes from an MRI study of preschoolers (Hutton et al., JAMA Pediatrics, 2020). It shows how screen use is linked to the wiring of the developing brain.

The top row (blue) highlights where more screen time is tied to weaker white matter organization. White matter is the brain’s wiring system that connects regions so they can work efficiently.

The bottom row (red) shows where heavier screen use is linked to weaker insulation on those connections. Insulation, or myelin, helps brain signals travel quickly, like the protective coating on an electrical wire.

Why does this matter? These highlighted areas include pathways for language, early literacy, and self-regulation. Children with higher screen scores also performed lower on language and literacy tests.

This is not a before and after of one child. It is a group-level finding. The message is clear. In the early years the brain is wiring for life. The more time children spend with people, play, movement, and books, the stronger these foundational circuits become.

Flexible seating in the classroom means designing the environment to respect and support the diverse sensory, emotional, and cognitive needs of ALL learners.

Some tips:

-Allow students to choose seating that works best for their body and brain.

-Offer options that accommodate different sensory profiles.

Seating for Movement Seekers:
• Wobble stools, rocking chairs, balance balls
• Standing desks with foot fidgets or wobble boards

Seating for Sensory Sensitivity:
• Soft, quiet bean bags

-Flexible doesn’t mean chaotic.

• Use visual schedules and clearly labeled zones so students know expectations.
• Keep consistent “home base” options for students who thrive on routine.

Help Kids Reduce Screen-Time! 🙌

Help Kids Find Balance…Screen-time is at an all-time high. Often beginning in infanthood and toddlerhood, an ever-increasing amount of time is spent by kids on tablets, cellphones, television, or video games—at home, school, and everywhere in between. Although in moderation screen-time can have its benefits, it is clear that too much time on devices can exasperate worries and anxiety and negatively impact a child’s mental and physical health.

When we limit screen use and encourage balance from an early age, kids develop healthy habits that will become part of their everyday lives while also having the benefit of reducing stress and anxiety.

🔔 ALERT: NEW TOYS IN THE CLINIC‼️
We’re so excited to share a sneak peek of our latest therapy toys & equipment—plus the amazing skills they can help develop!

🌀 SENSORY SWIVEL CHAIR
đź’Ş Strengthens core muscles (abdominal, back, pelvic) while helping children maintain balance
🧩 Provides vestibular input, which can help kids focus better on tabletop activities afterwards
âť— Can be alerting when spun fast (great for low-arousal/lethargic kids) or calming when spun slow (for vestibular seekers)

⚖️ SENSORY SEESAWS
🔴 Arc Seesaw – Forward/backward rocking for anterior-posterior balance, core strength, coordination, concentration, and timing
🟡 Front & Rear Seesaw – Forward/backward tilting to build dynamic balance, provide proprioceptive feedback, and support movement planning
🔵 Left & Right Seesaw – Side-to-side tilting for weight-shifting skills, hip/trunk strength, stability, and cross-lateral coordination (needed for walking, running, sports)

đź“” WEBBER BASIC CONCEPT MAGNETS (Level 1 & 2)
Fun, hands-on magnets to teach abstract concepts like colors, descriptive words (full/empty, clean/dirty, etc.), locatives, and more.

🗂️ SUPERDUPER CARD DECKS
Target higher language and integrative thinking skills—like inferencing, verbal reasoning, and spotting absurdities (in the form of silly sentences and pictures).

✨ We can’t wait for our kiddos to explore these and build their skills while having fun!

✨ BAKIT IBA-IBA pa ang evaluations o assessments? ✨

Today, March 21, we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day! 🧦🧡🩵

Most people with Down syndrome struggle with a support system that can help them thrive in their communities. Support from their families is not enough. đź«‚

We can start supporting in our own little ways by giving them the opportunity to do their activities of daily living INDEPENDENTLY. This can be as simple as giving them the CHOICE to ask for assistance/help and allowing them to make their OWN DECISIONS. Support varies per individual and it is our role to give them one that is tailored-fit to their needs.

A good support system paves for INCLUSIVITY and allows them to exercise their human rights. So together, let us ✨💖
