โCancer is not just a diseaseโit is a fight for survival, a test of resilience, and a challenge that demands action from all of us.โ
With 113,369 cancer-related deaths in the Philippines in 2022, the urgency for early detection, prevention, and equitable healthcare access has never been greater.
In observance of World Cancer Day, Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) stands with the World Health Organization (WHO) Philippines in raising awareness about the most common cancers affecting Filipinosโbreast, lung, colorectal, liver, and prostate cancer. Education is the first line of defense against cancer. With the commitment to informing our students, faculty, and staff, we empower them to make healthier choices and seek early screening.
CMC encourages its academic community to take an active role in cancer prevention through lifestyle changes, regular check-ups, and support for those battling the disease. โCancer care goes beyond treatmentโit is about awareness, compassion, and collective action,โ a CMC health advocate emphasized.
As the institution strengthens its health and wellness initiatives, CMC reaffirms its commitment to fostering a culture of proactive healthcare and disease prevention among students and staff.
Through collaboration, education, and advocacy, CMC joins the movement to and ensure that no one fights cancer alone.
