In celebration of World Mental Health Day 2024, with the theme focusing on Mental Health at Work, it's crucial to highlight the importance of a healthy working environment in promoting mental well-being.

A healthy working environment promotes mental health–offering purpose and stability. However, a poor working environment may harm the workers’ mental well-being which could reduce their job satisfaction and productivity. Various risks such as discrimination and limited autonomy may be faced by workers. Its effect may have a negative impact on the workers including reduced performance and absence from work. Worse, it could lead to various mental health conditions. Seeking help might also be hard as it may bring stigma and discrimination.

However, in a healthy working environment, workers may thrive and employers should support workers with mental health conditions in the workplace. Training managers to address in the workplace. Government and employers should also work together to prevent mental health risks and promote well-being. It is also one’s responsibility to take steps in supporting one's own well-being by learning various techniques to manage stress and being mindful of changes in mental health. If needed, seek help from trusted people or mental health professionals.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲

The Professional Regulatory Board of Psychology inspected and monitored Skinnerbox Psychological Services on March 22, 2024. The inspection is mandated under Section 9 of RA 8981, otherwise known as the “PRC Modernization Act of 2000”. This aimed to monitor the conditions affecting the practice of the profession under their respective jurisdictions and whenever necessary, adopt such measures as may be deemed proper for the enhancement of the profession or occupation and the maintenance of high professional, ethical, and technical standards, and for this purpose the members of the Board may conduct ocular inspection in establishments, hospitals, clinics, laboratories, testing facilities, and etc.

Hon. Miriam P. Cue, PhD, the PRB Chairperson of Psychology, along with Hon. Hector Perez, PhD, PRB member of Psychology, and Ms. Deanna Jezrah H. Jontilano, PRC RXII representative, conducted the comprehensive assessment of the documents to ensure that Skinnerbox is compliant with the provisions of the Professional Regulatory Law.

It concluded with a meeting between the PRB monitoring team and Skinnerbox Psychological Services, led by their PSU Head, Dr. Samuel H. Aquino Jr., RPsy, to discuss the findings. The Skinnerbox Psychological Services is committed to upholding its vision and mission, thus, extending its desire and commitment to comply the recommendations of the PRB.
