The rainy season increases the risk of snake encounters. 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬 when it comes to treatment.
Not all snakebites are fatal—but all require 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 to prevent serious complications or long-term disability.

𝐒𝐍𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐈𝐃 𝐓𝐈𝐏𝐒 – 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐨 𝐃𝐨:
• Keep the person calm and relaxed.
• Keep the whole body still—especially the bitten part.
• Don’t touch or clean the bite.
• Bring the person to the hospital right away.

• Don’t tie the bite with a tourniquet.
• Don’t suck out the venom.
• Don’t rub, cut, or put anything on the bite.
• Don’t use ice or give any medicine not prescribed by a doctor.
