ABR and BAER both refer to tests used to evaluate auditory function, particularly in infants and individuals who may have hearing impairments.

ABR stands for Auditory Brainstem Response, which measures the electrical activity in the auditory nerve and brainstem in response to sound stimuli. It's often used to diagnose hearing loss, especially in newborns and young children.

BAER stands for Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response, which is essentially the same test as ABR but with a slightly different name. Both tests are used interchangeably and refer to the same procedure.

So, in essence, there's no difference between ABR and BAER; they're just two names for the same test.
