Leptospirosis is primarily spread through contact with the urine of infected animals, especially rodents like rats. It can enter the body through cuts or abrasions on the skin, or through mucous membranes like the eyes, nose, or mouth.
Important Notes:
Not everyone who is infected with leptospirosis will develop symptoms.
Symptoms can appear within a few days to a few weeks after exposure.
If you experience any of the symptoms listed above, especially after potential exposure to rat urine, it's crucial to seek medical attention promptly.
Leptospirosis can be treated with antibiotics.
