As part of this week’s 4Ps Gives Back activity, beneficiaries actively took part in a Bayanihan Clean-Up Drive to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness in their communities. 4Ps members, together with the Barangay Local Government Units (BLGU) and Parent Leaders from various groups, worked hand-in-hand to clean public spaces such as barangay halls,schools and streets. This joint effort fostered unity, instilled discipline, and encouraged a strong sense of community responsibility. Through this meaningful activity, beneficiaries showed their gratitude by helping build a cleaner, healthier, and more caring environment.

Thank you to all the teachers for inviting us to participate in Brigada Eskwela 2025: Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa. Brigada Eskwela is an annual nationwide effort in the Philippines where communities come together to prepare schools for the new academic year through cleaning, repairs, and beautification. It embodies bayanihan, emphasizing community involvement and shared responsibility for quality education. As we prepare for Brigada Eskwela 2025, we look forward to strengthening community engagement, fostering inclusivity, and integrating innovative practices such as eco-friendly initiatives, digital literacy, and health protocols. Together, we can build resilient schools that nurture not only academic skills but also character and compassion, working hand in hand for a brighter future for Filipino students.

The activity was a collaborative initiative organized by the Pantawid Talusan Team, in partnership with a local agency and under the auspices of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO). The event was attended by Sir Florentino Tubo, representing the MSWDO, and Sir Juvenal Cael, the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Coordinator. The primary goal of the activity was to promote school attendance among out-of-school children and to actively engage parents in addressing the barriers that hinder their children’s access to education. The initiative aimed to raise awareness on the importance of education as a tool for empowerment and poverty alleviation, while also identifying strategies and support mechanisms to reintegrate learners into the formal school system or alternative learning programs.

Following the discussion on the Bata Balik Eskwela (BBE) Campaign and Gender and Development (GAD) Mapping, the Pantawid staff facilitated a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the participants. The FGD provided an opportunity for parents to share insights, express concerns, and contribute to a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by families regarding education, as well as potential community-based solutions.
