OSPAโFarmersโ Medical Center proudly renews its research collaboration with Dr. Yoshihiro Aoki, Emergency Physician at Nagasaki Harbor Medical Center and Research Associate at Nagasaki University Hospital, together with Dr. Ea Kristine Clarisse B. Tulin-Escueta, Assistant Professor at the Department of Biotechnology of Visayas State University. This partnership is further supported by the Nagasaki University School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health and Visayas State University.
This renewed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) strengthens our collaborative research on the PCR Diagnostic Assay for Snake Envenomation in Rural Health Facilities of Leyte and Southern Leyte. The study aims to improve snakebite diagnosis, surveillance, and patient management through advanced PCR techniques and multi-institutional research.
Under this partnership, OSPAโFarmersโ Medical Center will facilitate patient consultations, sample collection, and clinical data management. Visayas State University, under the guidance of Dr. Tulin-Escueta, will lead the PCR analysis and laboratory processing, while the School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health of Nagasaki University, represented by Dr. Aoki, will provide research leadership, technical expertise, and monitoring to ensure the effective implementation of the study.
This collaboration highlights our shared commitment to advancing medical research, strengthening diagnostic capacity, and improving healthcare outcomes in rural communities.
