✂️ Episiotomy: What Is It & Why Is It Done?

An episiotomy is a small surgical cut made in the perineum (the area between the va**na and a**s) during childbirth. It helps widen the va**nal opening to make delivery easier.

💡 Why is it done?
✔️ To prevent severe tearing of the va**nal tissue
✔️ To speed up delivery if the baby is in distress
✔️ To assist in difficult or instrument-assisted births (forceps/vacuum)

Most doctors now prefer natural tearing over routine episiotomies, as the body heals better from natural tears. Always discuss your birth plan with your doctor! 🤰💖

An increase in vaping-related illnesses in the US has been reported in recent months, mostly afflicting otherwise healthy young people. In response, WHO has introduced International Classification of Diseases (ICD) 10 code U07.0 to be used for reporting of acutely ill patients who have used electronic ci******es in the last 90 days, with no other plausible causes for illness.
