Newborn cries are LOUD — but you might notice something surprising…

Their tear ducts are developed, but the glands that produce emotional tears aren’t fully active yet.

🍼 So even though they sound heartbroken, their eyes may stay dry — and that’s completely normal.

💧 Tears usually start appearing around 2–3 weeks, and emotional tears become more noticeable after 6–8 weeks.
