Rhinoplasty Recovery Journey
Rhinoplasty healing is a gradual process that lasts up to a year. Immediately after surgery, a protective splint is placed on your nose. Keep your head elevated and avoid blowing your nose for weeks.
1st week, expect swelling, bruising, and discomfort, with pain medication prescribed. Avoid strenuous activities or heavy lifting.
During weeks 2-4, swelling starts to subside but may take weeks to fully resolve. Your surgeon may advise you to continue avoiding strenuous activities or heavy lifting. In months 3-6, most of the swelling subsides, with residual swelling improving over time. Months 6-12 see the majority of swelling resolved, and your final results become apparent.
To ensure the best outcome, follow your surgeon's post-operative instructions, which may include head elevation, avoiding specific foods or activities, and using prescribed medications or ointments. By understanding the timeline and adhering to your surgeon's advice, you'll navigate your rhinoplasty journey with confidence and reveal your most confident self.
