The Department of Neurology, Section of Movement Disorders, of the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, led by Dr. Criscely Go, Dr. Jan Kristoper De Guzman, Dr. Jed Noel Ong, and Dr. Adrian De Leon, successfully conducted a Botulinum Toxin Injection Workshop for neurology residents. The event included a lecture on the fundamentals of Botulinum Toxin injection, followed by the administration of free treatments to patients with hemifacial spasms and dystonia.

The workshop aimed to enhance clinical skills and promote improved care for patients with movement disorders.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our consultants for generously sharing their expertise, and to our partners for their invaluable support in making this event possible.

The Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, Department of Neurology, Section of Movement Disorders, led by our consultant Dr. Adrian De Leon, successfully hosted the lay forum titled “Nginig at Pagbagal: Ano ba ang Parkinson’s Disease?” to raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease.

We sincerely thank everyone who supported and participated in the event.

𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘, 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟓

In celebration of the Neurology Week of the Philippine Neurological Association, the JRRMMC Department of Neurology conducted its lay forum at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Mandaluyong City, today, November 8, 2024.

With the theme, “𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐭𝐚𝐤, 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐭: 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞”, the lay forum aimed to tackle the topics of stroke, epilepsy, sleep, headache and pain, in the setting of the work place.

Together with employees of the PCSO, the afternoon was filled with learning and fun. We thank everyone for taking part in this year’s Neurology Week.

The Department of Neurology of JRRMMC conducted zUmbaTAK: Zumba para sa Utak.

This encouraged employees to participate in Zumba. As we are celebrating Neurology in the Workplace, employees are reminded that even 10 minutes of exercise would help decrease physical and mental health issues and improves overall job performance outcomes (Ryde, et. al., 2020).
