🩺 Dr. Duanne Dela Cruz, from SIMC’s Department of Surgery, shared valuable insights during the campaign, emphasizing the importance of early consultation and regular screening, especially for men aged 50 and above or those with a family history of prostate cancer.

Through this initiative, SIMC aims to break the stigma surrounding men’s health, foster open conversations, and equip the community with knowledge that could help save lives.

👨‍⚕️ Men’s health matters. Early detection can make a difference. If you or your loved ones are at risk, don’t wait, consult your doctor today.

You Are Capable: Honoring Strength During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 🌼

This September, the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) joins the global observance of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to honor the courage and resilience of children and families facing cancer.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimated 400,000 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer each year. While most childhood cancers have no known cause, early diagnosis, timely treatment, and holistic care can significantly improve survival and quality of life. With accessible services and essential medicines, more than 80% of childhood cancer cases can be cured.

The NCDA reaffirms its commitment to raising awareness and supporting initiatives that strengthen access to healthcare, research, and compassionate care for children with cancer and their families. Together, we stand in solidarity to say: You are not alone. You are strong. You are capable. 💛
