Defend Cong. Kiko! Fight Repression!

Hakbang ng Maisug stands with Cong. Francis “Kiko” Barzaga as he battles repression.

The timing of his arrest on eight counts of cyber libel complaints filed by tycoon Enrique Razon, Antipolo Rep. Ronaldo Puno and Manila Rep. Rolando Valeriano is too much of a coincidence, coming at a time when he has just reported back after a series of arbitrary suspensions. It sends a clear message that the Marcos administration has no room for criticism and contrary opinion.

Notwithstanding the merits of the cases and the individual rights of the complainants, the swift and instant arrest of Cong. Kiko is a stark contrast to the flood control scam investigation which has not moved beyond optics to buy time until the Filipino people lose interest. This is the kind of justice that the Marcos administration is known for: no mercy for the ordinary people but freedom from accountability for the powerful.

Cong. Kiko is a whiff of fresh air in a polluted society where even the so-called decent, ethical and religious people look the other way while the Marcos administration loots the government coffers, silence criticism, corrupt the bureaucracy and destroy institutions. Cong. Kiko and all those who are coming out and speaking against anomalies and irregularities give our people not only to hope for better things to come but to fight and stand up for what is right.

Hakbang ng Maisug remains steadfast in its advocacies for transparency, accountability, peace and security. Cong. Kiko’s fearless expose of what is wrong not only with the House of Representatives and the Marcos administration but the government in general is consistent with our calls for transparency in government operations and accountability particularly for those who dispense government resources.

Hakbang ng Maisug calls on all patriotic and nationalist Filipinos to join the call to condemn the arrest and detention of Cong. Kiko and denounce the continuing inaction on the investigation and prosecution of the biggest perpetrators and conspirators of the flood control scandal and other anomalies of the Marcos administration. Perhaps the biggest tragedy of our time is not the illegal acts perpetrated by evil men but the collusion brought about by the silence of those who consider themselves good and righteous.

Cong. Kiko has nothing to be ashamed of because his arrest does not result from abusing his office and mandate nor enriching himself in office. His only sin, if it can be called as such, is daring to speak out where others conspire with their silence.

Justice for Cong. Kiko!

We are calling on everyone to remain vigilant and assist authorities in identifying these suspects.

If you recognize any of the individuals in the images or have any information that may help in the investigation, please immediately report to the nearest police station or contact the appropriate authorities.

4Ps BENEFICIARY! 🏆

Rico Q. Elao of Alegria, Cebu, a Magna Cum Laude graduate, emerged as Top 1 in the Licensure Examination for Civil Engineers, marking a milestone shaped by excellence, perseverance, and gratitude.

In his message, Elao said he was “deeply grateful” to the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) for being an essential part of his journey, sharing that the support “eased our family’s financial burden” and allowed him to focus on his studies and remain committed to his dreams.

He also emphasized that the achievement was “not mine alone,” dedicating the honor to his family, mentors, and the 4Ps, which he said “stood with me every step of the way.”

Elao is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Cebu Technological University – Dumanjug Extension Campus, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, major in Structural Engineering.

Make no mistake about it: Hakbang ng Maisug stands solidly behind Atty. Vic Rodriguez especially in anticipation of an escalated demolition job against him in the coming days.

In recent days, Atty. Vic has been at the receiving end of vicious attacks coincidentally after a series of events that took place during his last visit in Davao City. The timing is too much of a coincidence, proof that he is being demonized as a distraction while the sinister plot to impeach Vice-President Sara Duterte is in full swing.

When former President Rodrigo Duterte first exposed the evils of the Marcos administration with Hakbang ng Maisug in 2024, Atty. Vic was among the handful who courageously opposed the moves to amend the Constitution and denounced the massive corruption. Together with Cong. Isidro Ungab, Atty. Vic petitioned the Supreme Court to declare the 2025 budget unconstitutional. Atty. Vic was the only candidate who challenged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to undergo a hair follicle drug test during the 2025 elections.

Many of those who are attacking him now were silent then – just like their patron. They were silent during the Kingdom of Jesus Christ siege – just like their patron. While many of them joined the outrage over the kidnapping of PRRD, their patron was virtually silent.

Atty. Vic had been to The Hague three times, while the patron of his critics has not gone there even once. In spite of this, Atty. Vic is being demonized because as part of Hakbang ng Maisug, he must be destroyed and removed to clear the way for the Trojan horses to take over.

Hakbang ng Maisug came out in the open with PRRD and Vice-President Inday while many were in hiding and it will expose and oppose the Marcos administration. Hakbang ng Maisug will intensify its protest actions against this repressive, abusive and corrupt administration.

Hakbang ng Maisug will continue to join the fight to Bring PRRD Home and fight the unconstitutional impeachment of Vice-President Inday. It will support and defend Atty. Vic Rodriguez and all those who are courageously standing up against the Marcos administration.
